Country at the Merc is a dream come true for Gwyn... During the time Gwyn lived in Dallas, Texas she was a member of the Texas Legend Band, the house band for the Wylie Opry in Wylie, TX. When she moved to California and continued teaching voice lessons, she found that the only opportunities for her to perform were generally karaoke and student recitals. It was then she began her dream of opening an "Opry" style show here in Temecula. A place for performers to showcase and grow in their performance skills and for skilled performers to reach a receptive audience in a professional atmosphere. Together with her dear friend Sandi, who had no prior music experience but a lot of business savvy, they produced Temecula Live! Country Music Review. Its repeated success prompted the Old Town Temecula Theater to offer up the opportunity to produce a weekly country show. The willingness of The Ranch Rockers to commit to a steady gig was just the push they needed to accept that offer. Country at the Merc is now in it's fourth year and going strong thanks to the support of The Ranch Rockers, the performers and YOU, our terrific audience! Beginning in March of 2012 the show will be every 1st and third Saturday of the month. |
